Cards for mastering application security and building digital fortresses that protect innovation.
I am Harees. Security is not just a technical requirement; it is a business pillar that protects your most valuable assets and enables innovation. Weave it into how you build rather than adding it on top, and remember it is a journey of constant vigilance, not a destination.
Threats change, so change with them.
From organised cybercrime to supply chain attacks and insider threats, keep your security strategy able to adapt.
Fawzoozfawzooz.orgStart with security; don't end with it.
Flaws cost far more to fix the later they are found; build security in from design to cut risk and raise quality.
Fawzoozfawzooz.orgBuild on a recognised standard.
Use ISO/IEC 27001:2022 as a systematic framework to manage risk, protect information and keep improving, not just as a certificate.
Fawzoozfawzooz.orgConfidentiality, integrity, availability: your mission.
Keep data from unauthorised eyes, keep it accurate and intact, and make sure authorised people can reach it when needed.
Fawzoozfawzooz.orgLet risk guide your security.
Identify threats, weigh their likelihood and impact, then choose how to treat them: reduce, transfer, avoid or accept.
Fawzoozfawzooz.orgPlan, do, check, act.
Security never finishes; review performance regularly, find weak spots and correct them to keep strengthening your system.
Fawzoozfawzooz.orgThink like an attacker, and get there first.
Before writing code, use frameworks such as STRIDE to map likely threats to your design, and build defences before any flaw appears.
Fawzoozfawzooz.orgWrite code that holds firm.
Validate inputs, keep secrets out of your code and use trusted libraries to prevent flaws such as SQL injection and XSS.
Fawzoozfawzooz.orgAudit your system regularly.
Internal and external audits check that your system works as designed and prove you comply with standards and regulations.
Fawzoozfawzooz.orgFinding flaws is only the start.
Rank vulnerabilities by risk (for example, their CVSS score) and fix them on time through a clear process.
Fawzoozfawzooz.orgAlways be ready for the worst.
Breaches will happen; prepare an incident response plan and rehearse it to limit damage, stay compliant and recover quickly.
Fawzoozfawzooz.orgInvest in your developers' skills.
Security depends on people; keep training development teams with hands-on workshops and competitive challenges (CTF).
Fawzoozfawzooz.orgGrow security champions in your teams.
Choose developers who care about security and empower them as advocates, mentors and a bridge between development and security teams.
Fawzoozfawzooz.orgAwareness cuts human error.
Run engaging, ongoing awareness campaigns tailored to different staff groups to counter phishing and social engineering.
Fawzoozfawzooz.orgMake security part of your speed.
Build security scans (SAST, DAST, SCA) into your CI/CD pipeline so security keeps pace with delivery instead of blocking it.
Fawzoozfawzooz.orgConclusion
Security is a mindset everyone shares; invest in people, processes and technology, and stay alert.
